Trevor Toland is a lifelong resident of McDonough County, rural Macomb, Illinois. He is a graduate of the University of Iowa, a U.S. Army Veteran ROTC Commissioned Military Police Officer, and spent 32 years in public education as a teacher, basketball coach, and administrator. He is a past member of the McDonough County Board, a present member of the Prairie Land Conservancy Board, a past member of the Board of the LaMoine River Ecosystem Partnership, and is very active in his local United Methodist Church, serving as Lay Leader. He also served as a member of the advisory board for the School of Agriculture at Western Illinois University.
Trevor is a lifelong cattleman. He is the owner/operator of Toland's River Oak Ranch, a 400-acre grazing/farming unit located near Macomb. His ranch specializes in the management of intensive grazing and heifer development. He and his wife, Jane, were named the 2006 Illinois Beef Commercial Producers of the Year. In 2008 they also had the honor of being a nominee for the National Beef Improvement Federation. Other honors include being named by the Federation to the Commercial Producer Roll of Excellence. In 2014, the Toland's were named the Environmental Stewards of the Year for Illinois Beef. Their beef operation values equally the environmental, social, and economic aspects of execution for complete and sustainable success.
Toland has served the beef industry in several ways. From 2009 to 2011, he served as the Illinois Beef Association President. He additionally served as a member of the National Cattlemen's Beef Association Board of Directors and the NCBA Joint Nominating Committee from 2012 to 2015. He is a certified Beef Quality Assurance Producer, and a Master of Beef Advocate.
